Kayla Stocking has called Maple Ridge home since 2016. Before becoming a counsellor, she spent nearly two decades climbing the corporate ladder in the transportation sector. Throughout her career, she found herself consistently drawn to supporting people through challenges, transitions, and moments of self-doubt. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she felt a renewed clarity about what mattered most, which inspired her to pursue formal training in counselling and follow a path more aligned with her heart and values.

Kayla works with youth (13+), adults, and couples navigating significant periods of growth or change. She has a particular passion for supporting clients who are seeking to understand themselves more deeply, reconnect with their inner strengths, or move through major life transitions such as school or career shifts, relationship changes, or the many layers of parenthood. Her approach explores how past experiences shape present patterns and how clients can build a grounded and empowered way forward.

In practice, Kayla blends trauma-informed and experiential counselling with somatic practices, parts-work influences, mindfulness, and solution-focused tools. She strives to create a space that feels warm, steady, and collaborative, where clients can slow down, reconnect with themselves, and explore what is getting in the way of feeling balanced and fulfilled. Her background in leadership and HR adds a practical lens to her work, especially when supporting clients who are balancing personal growth with school, work, or family responsibilities.

Outside of work, Kayla enjoys life in a blended family with her spouse and their three kids, ages 8, 18, and 19. She finds grounding through dance, spending time outdoors, and reading non-fiction.

Kayla is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor (RTC) and a member in good standing with the Association of Counselling Cooperative Therapists of Canada (ACCT). She holds a Diploma in Transpersonal Therapeutic Counselling from Clearmind International.
